Addition and subtraction math facts are an integral part of the math curriculum in second grade. It is valuable to have students practice their math facts at home, in addition to practice in the classroom. Here is a great online resource for math fact practice for this school year. The games help teach different math fact strategies. Enjoy!

A few years ago, a fabulous teacher friends of mine made sets of math fact cards on the online program/app Quizlet. This is an option for your child to practice their math facts. It is not required. To find the cards, go to www.quizlet.com or download the free quizlet app from the app store. You do not need to sign in or create an account. On the computer, use the search bar that shows on the home screen and on the app, scroll to the page that gives you an option to search Quizlet. Search "Mrs. Meyers 2nd grade math." Make sure you are searching under classes and not under study sets. You will be able to scroll through classes and find the one that is Frederick, MD. Click on the class and you will see a list of study sets by math fact skill.
Students can then click on the flash cards icon to practice the cards as flashcards. You will want to select "term first" so that the equation shows first and the sum as the answer, since there are several equations that could match each sum. If you are using a computer, this option is on the right hand side menu bar. If you are using the app, you need to click on the option icon (gear icon on top right).
There are a couple of games students can play as well to practice working on their fluency.
